Hello, my name is Fiona Lester and I am the Reborn Artist behind Scrumptious Babies. I am based in Stockton on Tees, Durham, UK.
I started dabbling in art when I was in my teens, mainly pencil drawing with a bit of painting here and there. I left school at 16 and was a childminder for 5 years before I met my husband in 1997 and got married in 1998.
In 2004 I discovered paper crafting. I started scrapbooking and making greetings cards which I sold successfully. Following on from this, I started up my own business creating hand crafted wedding stationery. I ran the business for 3 years and it was a great success - but very stressful!
In 2008, I decided to close the business so I could concentrate on fertility treatment after my husband and I had been trying to conceive for 9 years. For over 2 years we had tests and different treatments, resulting in several miscarriages, but no baby.
Then a friend who has also struggled to conceive introduced me to Reborns. I was bought one by my husband, and within days I decided to have a go myself. My first baby was reborned in Winter 2010... and 'Scrumptious Babies' was created! I have sold over 135 babies since and absolutely LOVE my job!
